Once again, Jon found himself lying there listening to her breathe. Funny how it always came back to that. It’s how it all started and continued throughout the years.
When they arrived back to the room last night, they changed out of their bar-stenched clothes and curled up on the bed and talked well into the night before she had fallen asleep in his arms.
He had been up for a couple of hours now and by the way her breath tickled his chest she was too.
“What time is it?” Jon asked as he kissed the top of her head.
“By the looks of it outside, I’d say five-ish, maybe later. We should get up,” she sighed.
He tightened his embrace. “Just a few more minutes.” He understood the underlying sadness in her sigh.
“You need to go, Jon.” Again, she sighed.
“Can’t I just want to hold you a little longer? Is that such a crime?” His free hand caressed her arm.
“No crime, just hurts more.”
“Ari, there is no more hurt.”
“How do you know?” she asked.
“We don’t. What I meant was this isn’t like before. Things are different now.”
“Different to where I might become the most hated woman?”
“You don’t know that either. We don’t know how this will all play out. So, we will take it one step at a time together, and handle things as they come.”
She looked up at him. “You need to go. You’ll be late.”
“Don’t push me away. I love you.”
“I’m not. I love you, too. Now move.” She gave him a gentle shove.
“Okay. Okay. But you are coming to the airport, aren’t you?” He loosened his hold on her.
“That would be a big no. Airport goodbyes are never good.” She rolled to her side of the bed.
“Oh no you don’t.” He reached over her waist and pulled her close again. “You are not getting away that easy. This is not goodbye. It’s me going to take care of things so we can finally be together. Please come. Leaving you here will...” He nuzzled her neck.
“Will what? Why’d you stop?”
“Leaving you here will make it feel like all the other times, and it’s not. You’re not the only one who has harbored those same feelings.”
“Yes.” She turned her face towards his, silently apologizing with a kiss.
“Thank you. We can grab something to eat before we leave.”
“If it isn’t sex, it’s food.”
“Oh Crash, does this mean you have changed your mind?” It was one thing they had talked about last night. She wanted, more like needed, to put a hold on the physical part of their relationship. Though he didn’t quite agree with her reasoning, he understood why she needed this and wasn’t about to push the issue.
“Um, no.” She reached between them and gave him a playful squeeze.
“You. Are. Mean.” He slapped her ass and got out of bed. “Guess it’s a cold shower for me.”
“But you still love me, don't cha? Besides, we’ll see each other soon enough in London.” She propped herself up on her elbow.
“Sometimes I wonder. Speaking of London, don’t plan on seeing anything but the inside of our hotel room.” He walked in circles around the room, not sure what he was looking for.
“And why is that?
“Sweetie payback’s a bitch.”
“Is that a threat?”
He braced his hands down on the mattress in front of her. “It’s a promise. You can bet your sweet ass I mean every word.”
“Can’t wait. Shall I even bother to pack lingerie?” She stared into his eyes.
“Don’t even bother with a suitcase. You won’t be needing clothes, let alone lingerie. We can have the hotel wash the clothes you arrive with.” He gave her a quick peck and retreated towards the bathroom.
He pivoted on one foot “There is one thing you can bring. That yellow tee and matching thong you promised to wear... and your toothbrush. “
“So, demanding. Go get into that shower.”
“I’m going. And if you love me, you will be dressed by the time I come out.”

Forty minutes later they were greeted by Silvestro, who was once again waiting to take them to the airport. Unlike the sophistication of his Bentley, this one was more conducive for today’s purposes. A black SUV with darkened windows. It reminded her of the ones she would see parked backstage.
Ariana gathered the silky linen material of her long skirt with her hand as she stepped up and slid into the back seat. She tossed her jacket and bag on the floor and watched as Jon gave some last-minute instructions to Silvestro before climbing in.
“All set?”
“As I’ll ever be.” She fiddled with the set of bangle bracelets on her wrist.
Jon extended his hand to her across the seat, wiggling his fingers until she finally clasped her hand with his. Not a word was spoken. They sat quietly staring out their respective windows, neither one paying attention to the scenery. A calloused thumb brushed against her hand. Back and forth, round and round.
With every touch she felt her muscles tense, and her heart race. Silently she fought with the voices in her head, but she was losing her will. It went against everything she told him she’d needed.
Stick to your guns Ariana, just a little while longer. You can do this, she kept telling herself.
Then, as if he knew what she was thinking, Jon gently raised their hands, and lightly brushed his lips across her fingers.
“I can’t do this.” Ariana whispered as she twisted her leg over his muscular thighs and cupped his face. She was at the mercy of his striking blue eyes and couldn’t care who was watching.
Neither of them noticed the privacy partition being raised.
“Ari, we’ve been over this.” His warm hand stroked her face.
“Not that.” She gazed hungrily at him. “I want you. Here! Now! I can’t let you leave without feeling you inside me one last time.”
“Crash, are you sure?”
“Please, Jon.” Her reply wasn’t desperate. It was merely a simple request.
No words needed to be said. Jon simply smiled. The smile that charmed her all those years ago. He moved her off of him so he could tug open his jeans, as Ari slipped her hand under her skirt, lowering her panties and tossing them to the floor.
“C’mere”
A breathy moan fell from her lips as he settled her into his lap. Sliding his hands up along her waist he cupped her breasts, slowly stroking her pebbled buds with the pads of his thumbs. Eyes half-lidded with desire started to close. “Uh-huh. Open those beautiful green eyes. I want you to watch what you do to me.”
Tender fingers combed his thick, wavy locks before settling around his neck. “Hmm…” she purred her eyes never leaving his.
Jon’s lips caressed hers, “I love you.” He whispered. “I… Love… You…” He repeated the words as he looked deep into her emerald eyes. “I. Love. You!” Each word punctuated as he slowly guided her onto him. The little catch in her breath as she accepted him inch by inch caused his dick to twitch.
Ariana was breathless against him. Every kiss he placed on her trembling lips silenced the heaving of her chest. She ached for more. Her hands firmly around his neck, she pulled him closer and eased him forward, taking him deeper until there was not a space between them.
As their tongues danced, so did her hips, slow insistent circles. “Yesssss. Jonnnnn” she managed between kisses. “Feels...so...good.” His strong hands massaged the toned planes of her back, matching her rhythmic motions.
She rose up and down, increasing her pace, grinding harder into him.
“Ari... Baby.” His breathing was fast and hard. “Come... together.”
She began to heave and writhe. “Yesssss... Yesssss...”
With one last thrust upward, Jon shuddered and exploded inside her. Ariana collapsed against him her teeth grazing his collarbone as she did.
Dazed and motionless, and him still deep inside, Ariana could feel her spasm contract against his softening shaft. “I don’t want you to go.”
“Aww, Ari. I need to, so we can be together.” He cupped her face and brought it to his. “This isn’t a goodbye.”
“I know. Really, I do. It’s just... Lili. I’m afraid to be alone.” She brushed a small piece of hair from his sweaty brow.
“You won’t be. Cara and Max will there with you, and I am just a phone call away.” Jon brought his hand to rest on her thighs. “Besides, she will be with you. She is here.” He pointed to her heart. “Always.”
Ariana wrapped her fingers around his finger, bringing it to her lips she kissed its pad. “And I have our tree.”
“Exactly.” The small knock on the window let them know it was time for him to go. Ariana slipped off his lap reaching for her panties from the floor. “Sorry, do you need these?” she asked dangled them at him.
“Nah. I’ll change on the plane.” He zipped up his jeans as she stepped into the panties and adjusted her skirt. Catching her off guard, Jon reached around her from behind and pulled her into his lap. “I’ll miss you.”
“I know.” she teased. “You better get going or you will be late.”
Jon pulled her in for a hug and nuzzled her nose before his lips touched hers. At first it was gentle, then she felt his tongue run across her bottom lip as she opened her mouth and accepted him, their tongues exploring each other’s. The kiss turned passionate, fingers running through hair, holding on with tight passion. They both pulled away so they could catch their breath.
“I gotta go. I love you.”
“I love you too. I’ll be alright. Promise. Now get outta here.”
Jon opened the door and stepped out onto the curb. With one last look over his shoulder, he gave her a quick wink and closed the door. Silvestro handed him his bag and he disappeared through the revolving door.
